METEX has been represented in Germany for more than 50 years. Until the 1990s, the company had become the leading provider in the field of retrofitting of roll grinding machines.
In 2017, the foundation of a completely new and highly modern production facility at the industrial park Zeitz was laid. Since 2018, mainly new roll grinding machines have been manufactured at the new location.
These are mostly used in the steel and aluminium industry, by roller manufacturers or in the paper and foil industry. Today, METEX Group GmbH supplies customers from a wide variety of industrial sectors worldwide.

On 27 June 2023, a license agreement between Mike St. Peters, Managing Director of Abbott Machine Company, and Michael Fuchs (on the left of the picture), Managing Director of METEX Group GmbH, was signed in Elsteraue.
In the future, Abbott Machine Company will produce and sell the highly modern, new roll grinding machines, designed by METEX Group GmbH, in the USA.
Through this cooperation, the markets in North America and mainly in the USA can be captured more efficiently and thus local activities will be expanded enormously.

Abbott Machine Company has been servicing the metalworking industry for more than 55 years.
Founded in 1965 by the father-son duo Bill and Bob Abbott, the company became a leader in the field of manufacturing machine tools. In 1985, the company was extended by the precision grinding department.
